🍋La Dolce Vita! 🍋 @zandamcheese and @baccoe 🍋La Dolce Vita! 🍋 @zandamcheese and @baccoestate put together the most beautiful Italian inspired lunch yesterday and I was lucky enough to be on their guest list. Chef @carlajankelowitz from Bacco Estate prepared an inspired menu highlighting Zandam’s gorgeous cheeses and @baccoestate Italian wine varietals. Carla also managed to do this with a massive smile on her face and regular “pop ins” in to see how her 60 guests were doing. How incredible! These darling dainty candle holders are very unique, because they need a very special sized candle. Special as in super duper skinny and hard to find! Lo and behold, months after receiving these gems, I found the perfect candles to put in them, and at a shop in our local town none the less, @thistleandking ! How stunning are these unique candles? @thistleandking also sells beautiful more modern candle holders for them that you can buy there. 🌸 Budget Bouquet Tips 🌸 1. Local supermarke 🌸 Budget Bouquet Tips 🌸 1. Local supermarkets often have beautiful roses and tulips at a decent price, always check there first before going to a florist. Florists will usually charge more because they don’t buy large quantities at a time like supermarket chains. 2. Make your budget go further by adding foliage and flowers from your own garden. If you don’t have a garden ask your aunt/friend/granny if you can clip a few branches in their garden. 3. Opt for seasonal flowers rather than imported varieties, imported blooms will always cost more. This is unfortunately very hard to do in winter. 4. On that note, if you can support local flower farms that is first prize. If you can but directly from the farmer that is even better! 5. I like to pick out my own blooms to make sure they are the freshest, don’t be shy to ask your florist what the freshest flowers are. The fresher they are the longer they should last in the vase, more bang for your buck! I love birthdays, but never in my life did I expect to get butterflies celebrating my children’s birthdays. What a joyful day! I’m waiting for the sun to rise as I write this, so I can check if the mountains are capped with snow, just as they were the day my little boy was born. We love you, H. You are such a joy. You are kind, thoughtful, incredibly creative, sweet, hilarious, lighthearted, and have a deep love for animals and nature. We are so proud of you and enjoy your inquisitive mind immensely. Never lose that! 🫐 Burnt Basque Cheesecake 🫐 With the first 🫐 Burnt Basque Cheesecake 🫐 With the first blueberries of the season! It’s officially blueberry season on our farm and what better way to kick it off with a new favourite recipe from @drizzleanddip We had lunch with friends yesterday so I was very happy to have an “excuse” to bake this cheesecake apposed to eating it all by myself! Theo made a beautiful blueberry compote from the last batch of frozen berries from last season so I decided to pop that on top as well as a generous helping of freshly picked blueberries. If you are “Team Air Fryer” you will be very pleased to hear that I baked this in our new @instantpotsa Air Fryer as per @drizzleanddip ‘s recipe. And it came out perfectly! She has this recipe on her Insta right now so check it out if you are looking for the perfect easy cheesecake recipe everrrr. It is velvety, not too sweet and oh so decadent! 💙 I’m curious, were you also sceptical about the Air Fryer hype?
